If using the PLC output of Signal Output, three standard logical signals are available, Pass, Fail, and Processing and optional PLC Ready Output (Replaces the Pass Signal).   This is the DB-9 port on the back of the unit labeled Signal Output.

If you have PLCs that can communicate using RS-232/serial communication, then you can purchase the option for RS232 communication.  This will allow the test instrument to be controlled and programmed using PLC's with commands being send back and forth between the PLC and test instrument.  The available commands are listed in the manual and allow PLCs to start/stop/program a test and retrieve testing data like overall pass, failure reason and test meter data that is displayed on the front panel. This method uses ASCII string communication using serial communication, which will be installed to the section highlighted below when purchasing this option.
